Today came up with the idea of sharing few places which are safe for every traveler especially the community of LGBTQ(Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer).
- Canada
A great destination for LGBTQ and people. Canada has legalized same-sex sexual activities back in the 1960s and has strong gay rights. Popular gay villages in Toronto and Montreal and Vancouver’s Davies Street are some great spots for gay travel and home to Canada’s first-ever rainbow crosswalk. Same-sex couples and LGBTQ have the right to adopt children and can also serve in the military and be open about their sexuality. 2. Sweden
Sweden, a very greeting country towards homosexual and queer people, and one can enjoy dignity and fulfillment parades. Places like Stockholm and Gothenburg have lots of gay clubs and also in many other places like Malmö and Uppsala. Sweden has legal protection to LGBTQ + communities as early as 1987. Sweden ranks the second most safest country. One can feel safe to travel to Sweden Whether they belong to the rainbow family or not.
3. Norway
Norway ranks very high in LGBTQ rights and one of the first countries in the world to pass laws preventing discrimination based on sexual orientation. Same-sex marriage and adoption are completely legal in Norway. People in Norway welcome visitors of all genders and sexualities. One of the first European countries to allow transgender and non-binary people to pursue gender changes without the need for diagnosis. Oslo is one of the top spots to visit in Norway hosting the country’s biggest Pride festival and many other gay-friendly events.
4. Portugal
One of the fastest countries in the world to improve LGBTQ rights. Now this country is known for a very gay-friendly travel destination. The country, still impacted by Roman Catholicism, progressively accepted more of same-sex relationships and homosexuality. Amendation of the penal code in 2007 equalized the age of consent and criminalized domestic violence in same-sex relationships, thus equalizing treatment with opposite-sex couples.
5. Belgium
A very high-spirited destination in Europe with the most progressive laws in the world and same-sex intercourse has been legal since the late 18th century. Belgians are very supportive of same-sex marriages and other issues related to LGBTQ. Adoption of children for LGBTQ are allowed since 2006, IVF is also out for lesbian couples. LGBTQ Pride gets hosted once each year attracting and massive participants and it’s held in May. They’re also plenty of gay clubs especially in the big city like Brussels. Few places to find lesbian parties, festivals, and other lesbian opportunities-> Cafe de love, Labyrinth, SheShe bar. Still hate crimes can happen at any time and any places so it is important to be cautious of the surroundings.
Some of the other safest countries for LGBTQ are United Kingdom, Finland, Iceland, France, Denmark, Australia, South Africa, Australia, Netherland, Spain, Malta, etc.
